• The first days: |
An unhappy child will not play or learn effectively, so parents and staff need to work |
together to help the child feel confident and secure in the group. This takes longer for |
some children than others, and parents should not feel worried if their child takes |
a while to settle. Parents are welcome to stay until they think their child is ready to be |
left. |
• What to wear: |
Please try to send your child in clothes which are easily washable or not too new - we |
use all sorts of messy play materials. Simple clothing which they can manage themselves |
is good for self esteem and makes going to the toilet easier! |

• The Role of Parents: |
We recognise parents are the first and most important educators for their young |
children. We aim to support parents. Parents are welcomed into the group, encouraged |
to assist with fund raising and to take an active role on the Committee. |
Our parent rota system includes washing up and it only takes about 10 minutes |
at the end of each session. It also enables parents to see the children participating |
in the group. The rota is always displayed on the outside notice board. |
